Ouarzazate-Zagora-Tinghir – MATE Regional branch organized regional MATE study in Tazarine, on January 3rd, which was about this theme: Surmounting Challenges through Effective ELT Practices. There were around 25 people attending the meeting, including the president of Tazarine municipality, local authorities, teachers, and students. The activities started with opening speeches; the first one by the delegate of MEN in Zagora and the second was the president of Tazarine municipality, then local authorities in tazarine, and the last one was MATE national board representative and OZT MATE regional branch president.

I and my friends were invited to represent our school MATE CIRCLE (Sidi Amro High School MATE CIRCLE, Tazarine a’ Zagora). The organizing committee of this study day gave us the chance to present our topics; the first student was a Hayat Torabi who presented a report about Henna festival in Tazarine, after she finished I presented a summary of the best short story I read in my MATE CIRCLE titled, Lost in New York. After that, I talked about my experience in the English Club last year before it becomes MATE CIRCLE this year. In addition, my friend Mohamed Hassani presented a short talk titled, Why I chose to be MATE CIRCLE student.

After that, there was a break and we took a group picture. After the break, there was a presentation about a Portrait of Wanted Teacher by Mr. Hamza Mahmoud, and there was a nice discussion about it after that. After there was the first workshop about Strategies to Encourage Speaking in the Classroom BY Mr. Benjamin Orgen (Pease Corps volunteer) which was very important and interesting for me and for teachers as well. The second workshop was by Mr. Abdelouahed Oulghout about Developing Interactive Content for EFL Learners. Followed by Mr. Mohamed Elghazy who presented an inspiring presentation about MATE CIRCLEs Project,MATE CIRCLEs: Educational Spaces for Moroccan Students. Lastly, the event closed with certificates awarding.

In fact, this was a very interesting and learning experience for me and my friends. I wish I will have other chances to attend MATE events like this one. Thank youReoprt on OZT MATE Regional Study Day (2) Reoprt on OZT MATE Regional Study Day (4)
